As a Car owner, there are some car warning signals you should never take for granted. Ignoring these warning lights, which are there to alert you to a potential problem can leave you stranded or cause further costly damage.
ENGINE LIGHT
As a Car owner, when your check engine light comes on, it means the sensors have detected an electrical or a mechanical fault.
In most cases, the problem could be as simple as replacing a faulty sensor or it could have detected a more serious problem with the engine. You can only know the exact source of the problem only when you get it checked out.
It is better you avoid driving your car until you get it checked by your auto mechanic.
OIL LIGHT
An oil warning light should also be taken very seriously. Your car running depends on how well the car parts are well lubricated. As you run your car, your oil level in the engine can become low or the oil pump will not circulate oil properly and at the correct pressures.
In either case, engine damage is likely to occur and the vehicle should be inspected to determine the cause of the problem. You may have a minor oil leak, a malfunctioning oil pressure sensor, restricted oil passages, an improper oil level, or a number of other mechanical issues but only a proper check can determine this.
BRAKE WARNING LIGHT
Brakes are very important in order to have to safe vehicular operations so when the brake warning light comes on, it’s definitely a sign you cannot ignore.
The brake warning light coming on could mean a few things. It could be minor issue like the parking brake been left on to the car is running low on brake fluid, or there is a bigger mechanical issue with the brakes.
If checking the parking brake or adding fluid doesn’t resolve the issue, you should take it in for service.
BATTERY LIGHT
Your car battery light will appear whenever you turn on your vehicle but If it stays on while the engine is running and you’re driving around, though it means there’s a problem with the charging system or damaged wire.
They could be a number of problems with your vehicle’s battery like a loose cable but it could mean you eventually run out of power and come to a halt while driving. It could also mean your vehicle overheats or your power steering system stops working, all of which could be dangerous.
AIRBAG LIGHT
Your airbag warning light will come on if there’s a problem with your airbag system or possibly your seatbelt. This will usually mean your airbag needs resetting or that there’s a problem with the battery or the wiring in the airbag system.
As soon as you see the light turn on, either pull over safely or see a mechanic if there’s one nearby.
Remember, If you’re involved in a crash while the airbag warning light is on, your airbags won’t deploy for you or your passenger, which could prove fatal, so it’s not recommended you drive while it’s on.
